Augmentation - Insertion of silastic, saline-fillable implants, either above or below the pectoral muscles, to add or restore breast volume. Done under general anesthesia, as an outpatient, using various incision options, and now adding a significant improvement in post-op management, using the "On-Q®" pain pump. Lift - Removal of extra stretched breast skin and re-location of the nipple to a higher position on the breast to reshape and lift the breast. (The nipple is not detached). This is often combined with placement of breast implants for patients who have had volume loss, combined with over stretched skin. Reduction - Removal of excess skin, fat and breast tissue from heavy breasts, leaving the nipple attached to the lower breast tissue for blood supply and to maintain sensation.
